 The Essential Chihuahua Guide

About us…

When we first thought of getting a Chihuahua the information available seemed a little thin on the ground and also a bit patchy.  In some web site cases, it seemed very much biased towards buying their breeds.  Having said this, in hindsight I feel that the same web sites often do have good advice despite this propensity, and buying their breeds might be worth considering.

Like so many people, our first intention was to explore the idea of breeding Chi's our selves to make a little money since we had heard some success stories of this. That was before we realised that they weren’t really just a dog at all!!

Now before you take exception to the above seemingly "silly" remark, let me just say that I never considered myself a "dog person" in the first place.  I felt that dogs tended to take up too much of one’s time and personal space, so contemplating taking on a Chihuahua was simply an interesting small (i.e. micro) business venture.

That changed almost instantly! How could I think of treating Peaches, our new puppy Chihuahua, as anything other than what she is – a real baby girl?  Oh no (!) you say, another nut case – yes may be but wait until you get one!  We now have no commercial plans to breed Chihuahuas but want to instead provide information to Chi owners and potential owners.

On a side-note, we don't feel Chihuahuas are accessories (if misinterpreting the banner).  They just love to be carried!  Carry your Chi responsibly if you do carry her - she is expecting you to protect her so don't take her anywhere you will forget you have her with you - she must be your number one priority when she's with you, if that's not possible make other more thoughtful arrangements please!
